July 2025 marks the 10th Anniversary of World Watercolor Month! WWM was started by illustrator Charlie O’Shields and is an opportunity for artists worldwide to celebrate painting in watercolors and helping artists find others in our flourishing community. 🥳
Each year Charlie O’Shields publishes a Prompt list for every day of the month of July with words set to ignite our collective imagination. As artists, we are challenged to use watercolors, gouache and other water-media (although ANY painting medium of expression will work) to interpret the prompt word in a painting of our choice. 🖼️
The 2025 prompt list along with instructions to help you follow along can be found on the World Watercolor Month website link below. I see following along with these prompts as an opportunity to challenge myself to stay on task and expand my watercolor techniques and portfolio. 🧑🎨
